Jurassic World has a cult-like following after it smashed box office records in the summer of 2015. Since then, fans have been asking only one question - "When will the sequel come out". Well, Universal Pictures has finally answered their question. Ladies and Gentlemen, Jurassic World: the Fallen Kingdom is here.

On June 22, 2018, Jurassic World: the Fallen Kingdom will hit cinemas in the Americas. If you have been waiting for the sequel since 2015, our review of “Jurassic World: the Fallen Kingdom” will tell you everything you need to know about this movie.

In this sequel, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will return to their respective roles as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing. Surprisingly, a character from "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" in 1993 movie, Jeff Goldblum is set to return as Dr. Ian Malcolm. Other actors that made up the cast of this movie include Justice Smith, James Cromwell, Geraldine Chaplin, Ted Levine, Toby Jones, Daniella Pineda, Rafe Spall, and B.D Wong.

Like expected, the upcoming dinosaur flick is co-written by Derek Connolly and Colin Trevorrow and directed by Juan Antonio Bayona.

What Happened? - The Storyline

Well, since the theme park and luxury resort was destroyed by dinosaurs that are out of control three years ago, the island sits abandoned by humans. Meanwhile, the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.

Unfortunately, nature has something for them. A volcano which has been dormant for millions of years begins roars back to life and pose a great threat to dinosaurs. Fearing that these dinosaurs will finally go into extinction if nothing is done, Owen (Played by Chris Pratt) and Claire (Played by Bryce Dallas Howard) decided to launch a campaign in order to save the remaining dinosaurs from going into extinction as a result of the volcano. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Owen has a second motive for returning to the island. He still very much wants to find Blue, his lead raptor that is still missing in the wild. Claire, on the other hand, has grown a kind of fondness for these creatures, so convincing her to come on the mission wasn't hard.

The team arrived on the island just as the lava starts raining down. What follows later revealed a conspiracy that could return our world as we know it to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.

Off the Island

Following some revelation made by Trevorrow back in 2015, fans have been expecting the producers to bring the next Jurassic film off the island; the footage we have seen so far suggested that they have done just that. The footage makes it clear that the "park is gone".

Deadlier Dinosaurs

If there is something you should expect to see in this sequel, it is the type of dinosaurs you've never seen before. The Jurassic World: the Fallen Kingdom will usher you into the world of dinosaurs like never before.

The dinosaurs in this sequel are deadlier, more powerful, and more diverse. You will see species of dinosaur you've never seen before or imagined. You will also see these dinosaurs in a variety of places you never expect to see them such as in a child's bedroom, on a roof, and even facing off with a lion.

Ian Returns

Expect to see the return of Ian (Goldblum). Right now, we don't know what role he would be playing in the movie but we can count on him doing something very interesting. The trailers released so far only gave a glimpse of him testifying about the terrifying situation in the island which is about to change our world as we know it.

He said: “We resurrected the most lethal predators this planet has ever seen,” he says. “We’ve taken things way too far. Genetic power has now been unleashed. We’ve entered a new era. Welcome to Jurassic World.”

In case you've forgotten, Ian Malcolm is a character from 1993 and 1997 Jurassic Park movies. The character was played by Jeff Goldblum.

What You Should Expect

We can't say for sure exactly what happened in Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom yet. But if the trailers released so far are anything to go by, you should expect an action-packed scary movie. Speaking to Wired in July 2015, the former director Trevorrow made it known that this wouldn't be "just a bunch of dinosaurs chasing people on an island", the action will go beyond the world of the park.

Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom will look scarier than those we have already seen. The producers hinted that the dinosaurs may be used in warfare and there is even a possibility of these dinosaurs being created by other entities. No doubt, this movie has endless possibilities and surely going to be one of the biggest movies of 2018.
