Ant-Man and the Wasp is a sequel to the 2015 movie - Ant-man. It is set after the events of Captain America: Civil War in which an experiment gave the Ant-Man the power to make his body extremely large as well as shrink it whenever he wants. The movie is directed by Peyton Reed with Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly playing lead characters as Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne. This sequel brings back Michael Douglas as the original Ant-Man, Hank Pym. It also introduces Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne, the original Wasp. Ant-Man and the Wasp was written by Larry Lieber and Stan Lee.
What Happened - The Storyline
Ant-Man and the Wasp tells the story of how Scott Lang is struggling to come to terms with his new responsibilities as a dad and superhero in the aftermath of the civil war that tore The Avengers apart. While dealing with his problems the best way he could, Dr. Hank Pym (Played by Michael Douglas) and Hope Van Dyne (played by Evangeline Lilly) come calling with another urgent mission. Left with no choice, the Ant-man suits up with the Wasp to battle a new threat faced by the world.
Just like the original Ant-Man, this sequel is a clever sci-fi superhero movie with a lot of thrilling actions that never ends. Not only action, brace yourself for some violence and romance in this movie.
Welcomes the Ghost
Expect to see the ghost character in the return of the Ant-Man. Right now, we cannot confirm this. The character could be male or female. The ghost has the ability to phase which makes it possible for it to move through solid matter. The ghost has every type of strange versions of that phasing power. The ghost is the main villain that the Ant-Man and the Wasp will be fighting. Since the ghost has the ability to phase, it makes it very difficult for Ant-Man and Wasp to deal with.
Remember that the ghost is a male character from the Marvel Comics universe. However, Paul Rudd revealed that this time around, it would be played by actress Hannah John-Kamen. Despite knowing who will play the ghost, we cannot confirm at this point if the ghost will be male or female.
So Much To See
We learned a lot from the trailer Marvel released on January 30. According to this trailer, Lilly - the Wasp life-changing character is going to play a major role in the fight against the ghost. In fact, the wasp delivered some of the most memorable action sequences of the trailer.
Another thing we see from the trailer is an extensive use of some magical and state-of-art tools which were added to Ant-Man and Wasp's arsenal. One of these devices allows the team to change the size of anything they want such as a Pez dispenser, an entire building, and even a van in motion.
In a photo and video that appeared in Spanish Instagram account in January, we learned that not only will the gender of the ghost change; it is being reworked quite a bit for the movie. So expect to see a lot from the ghost who is one of the leading villains in the movie.
The ghost character first appeared in 1987 issue of Iron Man. At the time, it was created by David Micheline and Bob Layton. The character went on to become a huge problem for Tony Stark and other Marvel heroes.
